Mike Powers has been practicing and teaching Qigong for more than 25 years. After many years of Qigong practice Mike added Tai Chi and soon found he had a knack for teaching this slow-moving, Chinese martial art, sometimes referred to as “Dancing Meditation.” Mike has been teaching Medical Qigong and Tai Chi to cancer patients and caregivers at a major cancer hospital, for nearly 12 years. He also maintains a small private practice for body work which includes Medical Qigong and Medical Massage therapy for the relief of emotional and physical trauma. Mike’s instruction is focused on empowering his students to carry on with what they learn outside of the classroom.
Mike also teaches classes for A Healing Collective. This classes include qigong, tai chi, energy-bases bodywork, and certification classes for massage therapists.
None of Mike’s work involves the taking of any drugs or supplements. All movements are gentle. It is important that you discuss any health issues you have with your doctor or other licensed healthcare provider.
Mike specializes in working with emotional and/or physical trauma victims, including PTSD, using energy based techniques that have proven to be very effective.
Mike also does energy work that can completely eliminate scar tissue without the need for surgery or painful massage techniques. This can lead to reduced pain, increased range of motion, and improved flow of the lymphatic system. This technique is non-invasive and is often proven effective in one session. Extensive scarring usually takes several sessions.
